There is a subtle difference between honesty and sincerity. It seems to me that sincerity is a kind of opening oneself, while honesty is a kind of closing others. I hear enforcement, report, assessment, duty and norm in the word “honesty”, these are somehow connected with honor which in its turn is associated with women home slavery and men noble shootouts. In the word “sincerity” I hear sparks showering from a flint, search, roll and other work on one own’s personality. So I prefer sincerity to honesty.
